Well I went to singapore three months ago and I have noticed that the knob to regulate the temperature inside the cars only had color in it, blue. So I wondered if cars in singpaore do not have heaters on them. I only saw an ac button on the cars.

Probably because it never gets cold enough to need a heater. Cars in Thailand are the same - no heater

Are you expecting polar bears in Malaysia and Singapore? Who needs heaters?

Because it’s hot enough outside? Singapore and Malaysia are near the equator - so it’s hot and humid most days!

dear sir…almost all cars in this part of the world have no heaters built on them. Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines and other countries do not have car heaters. The logic is simple: The climate here is not freezing. You actually need airconditioner than a heater. However, the cool breeze of air might be refreshing when travelling.
No need for heaters.

Actually cars in Singapore and Malaysia (imported ones) do have heater - not worth the cost o change them off the production line. My car - Hyundia Tucson - comes with a heater.
However, even if the heater is avaliable, no one in the right mind would be using it … the average temperature is about 32C and on a cool night its about 28C. The only time I have used my heater is when I drove up to genting highlands in malaysia and it was raining.

well, because there’s no winter in Asia, but i guess there are few cars with heaters in Singapore, like the continental cars that i found on 88db like the Mercedes Benz E240 Auto ….hope this helps

maybe the continental cars like BMW or Merc have heaters

well, the answer is quite simple actually. Both countries do not experience the four seasons, you see. Therefore,i dont see any need to have a heater as both countries experience the hot and humid weather. But if you were wondering whether is the any cars in singapore that has one,im pretty sure there shd be atleast a car that has heater.

Heater? Should I laugh harder or greater?
Hahaha.
The average temperature during daytime for both Malaysia and Singapore averaged around 30°-33° Celsius, or 66F to 94F which is hot.
We don’t have snow falling in South East Asia, to keep cool we need motorized fans, air-conditioning and drinking plentiful of water to reduce dehydration.
Driving in a car with temperature soaring above 30° can be stressful not just to anyone or locals, even to the foreigners.
So let me rephrase my question, do you really need a heater in a high humidity area with temperature soaring above 30° while driving in a car and you are sweating? Or do you prefers air-conditioning? Do you see any snow falling around?

Are you alright? All countries that lies along the Equator do not need heaters in the cars.
September 25th, 2008 at 10:44 pm
Haha. This question makes me laugh.
The weather is hot and humid all the time here. May turn a bit cooler at the end of the year.
But we NEVER need heater. Hahaha

it’s because they don’t have winter season there..what’s the use of heater if the temperature reaches to 35-40 degrees Celcius?
