it’ll be legalized because it actually costs them money, so even if they didn’t make a cent from tax it would be a profit of billions,
also, the prices would go down, because weed should be as cheap as the dirt it grows in, put a 50 dollar tax per ounce (the terms of California’s legalization initiative) and we will still be buying weed for 55 dollars an ounce at most.

maybe you can’t smoke responsibly, but i can, i take a pipe hit every couple of days, just to chill me out,
also it’s really not possible to use alcohol responsibly, the odds of violent outburst increase significantly even with a small amount of alcohol.
and even if what you say is true, that’s no reason to keep a completely ineffective, enormously expensive and terribly destructive law in place, intoxication isn’t a crime.

It’s not about how stoned we get on pot. it’s about the drug and chemical companies muscling in on hemp because hemp has about 500 different applications that would put these scumbags out of buisness!!

One arguement is that cops say they won’t be able to check THC levels like breathalizer test. If someone is driving after smoking a little pot and their driving is not effected and they can function then they aren’t smoking enough to where it’s effecting their motivation. If someone is making driving errors, cop pulls them over, they can’t pass a field sobriety test, it would be obvious to the cop that they are driving under the influence of some sort of drug and could still make a DUI arrest.

I believe that if someone gets impaired enough on pot that it effects their motivation I don’t believe they should drive. I also have that same belief that if someone drinks too much alcohol to the point it effects their motivation they should not drive. If someone smokes too much pot 2 or 3 hours later they might be fine. Someone gets drunk on alcohol they will get sick, have a headache, hangover, they might pass out for the whole day.

Some people will smoke pot and try to get high as they can but there are people that will take a few hits of pot and be satisfied without smoking too much. There is no laws against getting drunk. How many 21 year old old college kids drink responsibly? Adults drink more than 1 or 2 beers around the holidays. They have their mixed drinks they have their shots. All they are asked is that they do not drive drunk. If someone drives drunk they are arrested.

Just going to a store to buy pot would be a faster and cheaper process than growing it when you don’t need to grow a specific strain if it’s already available for purchase with many other strains in a store. Cigars are made from tobacco, most people go to a cigar store and buy the cigars they want. They don’t take the time to grow their own tobacco.

If you legalize marijuana and hemp then the country could make money from marijuana and if they made oil from HEMP production then the country has a cleaner burning fuel that is produced in the United States. Make paper from HEMP, clothes, food, the whole plant is a money maker.

The fees spent when we talk prohibition of marijuana outweigh the cost of legalization. Billions of dollars are spent to fight marijuana while states miss out on making millions of dollars to their economy. On a country wide scale the price to put marijuana offenders in jail, law enforcement on marijuana cases, you could be talking over 100 billion dollars when you look at court for pot, jail, enforcement, etc.

People can brew their own alcohol and some do but most people buy their alcohol in a store. It would be hard for a private grower to under cut the legal market with the expenses to grow it. Farmers have the land to grow mass production.

What health taxes are we talking about? Not one person has died from the direct use of marijuana. If someone vaporizes marijuana instead of smoking it the health effects when it comes to smoking pot is almost non existent as there would be no smoke or carcinogens going into the body to cause any upper respiratory problems. The farmers would be the ones in control of growing it for production. People would get sales licenses and growing licenses.

deadman I disagree. I think people would grow their own pot but most would just go to a store to buy it. Growing marijuana is expensive and time consuming. You could be talking hundreds of dollars spent to grow it yourself. I think people would go to a store and pick from a variety of strains. In a store you would also have the amount of THC labeled. You want strong pot or weak pot, your choice just like stronger alcohol or weaker alcohol.
